Yes, you! Don’t even think about uttering her name. I better not hear anyone slander her name. I honestly don’t know how she lives her life without going off on people in public on a daily basis. I mean, I guess having decorum is great and all, but some people ( a lot of people) need to be yelled at or cussed out regularly.
Let me lay out my thoughts about what this woman has done for these ungrateful SOB’s in this state.
Fix the Damn Roads!
This was her campaign slogan. She ran with this and I believe she won because of this. It was quite a rough start, and people were getting restless, but I never doubted her. I’ll explain later in the post more about why I gave her the benefit of the doubt about many of her campaign promises.
Michigan has some of the worst roads in the country (maybe the world, but that’s just conjecture). Every pot hole comes with its own set of problems. Didn’t dent your rims here, that’s ok, just go further up the road and blow your tire out!
Now that the mid-term elections are upon us, I’m starting to hear more about the roads again. Also, now with Bidens Infrastructure bill passed, we have some money to help fix those roads. Hopefully, this is just the start and she can fix more than just the roads through the next few years.
That woman from Michigan
Don’t even get me started on the piece of trash who is still somehow free from prison after stealing all of those classified documents. Donald Trump has had his share of run-ins with people all over the world, literally. He even gets into it with people from his own party. Despite all of that, he chose to pick a fight with Gretchen Whitmer.
When the pandemic first began and people knew nothing about the virus, Trump was walking around like nothing was going on. Meanwhile, our Governor had precautions in place to help keep the people of Michigan safe. While speaking about her one day, trump eluded to her as, “that woman in Michigan.” Unbeknownst to him, that name would stick and become a slogan for her and make her even more popular here. There were even t-shirts with the saying on.
Flood and bridges collapse
In May of 2020, there was a heavy downpour of rain. In turn there were massive floods and a town basically demolished because of a dam failure. Midland, Michigan had to be evacuated. Now, not only is there a worldwide pandemic to worry about, but now many residents in one town had to find a new home.
I don’t know who is to blame for this situation, but it seems the dams had been in disarray as early as 1999 and never had anything done to them. The facility that own the dams license had been revoked for safety violation, 2 years before this happened. I can’t say whether this was on Whitmers watch or the previous Governor, Rick Snyder, but my money would be on the latter. Just look at how he handled flint.
Kidnapped?
In October of 2020, I remember sleeping in late. I do most of my work late into the night or early into the morning, depending on how you want look at it. Either way, I hadn’t turned on the tv at all. I spoke to my mom and she said, “they just arrested some guys for plotting to kidnap the Governor!”
Wait, what!?
So, apparently these guys have been on the FBI’s radar for a while. If you know anything about this case, you know during the trial, there are stories out that claim the FBI agents had more to do with this than the men arrested. It’s hard for me to believe that, since the FBI had already infiltrated their little group. Why were the FBI there already?
Either way, 13 men were arrested. They had been watching her vacation home, planned to blow a bridge to slow response, and they did all of this, because…. They didn’t like the covid restrictions that the Governor had in place. How dense do you have to be? All of that, because you don’t want to wear a mask? Unless, you’re going to kidnap someone or go hunting, am i right Northern Michiganders?
Through it all, Governor Whitmer stood tall and continued to do what she had to. Which brings me to my last point.
The Pandemic
Even after dealing with all of the points listed through this post, she still had to get up everyday and keep the people of Michigan informed about a pandemic (that would not have lasted as long or been as severe with the correct leadership in place). She still had infrastructure to worry about. She still had a family to worry about. She still had other jobs to do.
So, in light of all of that, I say again,
